Plain-English v1 — updated August 2026
Dragon Fleet is a vehicle-tracking product. Location data is the whole point, so we treat it as the sensitive thing it is. This page says what we collect, why, and what control you keep. It's written to be read; a formally lawyer-reviewed policy will replace it as we grow, and won't say anything different in substance.
What we collect
- Account details— your name, email address, and organisation, so you can sign in and we can tell your fleet apart from everyone else's.
- Vehicle telemetry — GPS positions, speed, trips, and device events from the trackers you install in your own vehicles. This only flows once you plug a tracker in.
- Billing details — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your card number.
What we do with it
We show it to you and to the people you invite, and we use it to run the features you asked for — the live map, trip history, alerts, and theft-recovery links. That's it. We do not sell your data, ever, and we don't use your fleet's movements for advertising.
Who can see your vehicles
Only the people you add to your organisation, with the role you give them. If you mint a share link — for the police during a theft, or for anyone you choose — it shows only that vehicle's trail, is read-only, and dies the moment you revoke it.
How long we keep it
Position history is kept for the retention window of your plan — 90 days on standard plans, 395 days on extended-history plans — then deleted. Account details are kept while your account exists.
Getting it out, and getting it deleted
Every position and every trip is exportable from the product, any time, on every plan. If you close your account and want your data deleted, email us and we'll do it — you don't have to keep paying to keep control of your own history.
Where we stand legally
We're built and operated in Aotearoa New Zealand and serve customers in Australia and New Zealand. We work to the NZ Privacy Act 2020 and the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (including the Australian Privacy Principles).
